Even if the rumors are false, I would be leary as a manager of letting my fighter go over there to fight. Especially when Lewis is in the posititon to dictate the terms, as the champion. Mattt Matt

Mattt Matt Well, not trying to defend German boxing or even doubt such a thing happened to Bird, but again a history of that major _title_ bouts in the US, either. Both Rocky Marciano and Muhammed Ali were blinded by substances possibly on their opponent's gloves in their bouts for the championships. Lewis, as champion, is in the position to demand inspection of gloves and even have considerable influence on choice of judges. Bobby Bearden
